This truly enchanting 1940's violet blue crepe silk dress, embellished with royal blue glass bugle beads, in a trailing swirl pattern with leaf design details, is the perfect show stopper for your vintage collection.
The rounded neckline of the dress, is framed by a simple shoulder line, which sets off the short length sleeves. The bodice is fully embellished with trailing glass beadwork, which begins in a delicate crossed leaf pattern along the front of the neckline. The cinched in waistline of the dress, draws the eye to the elegant peplum cut, which is in turn fully embellished in matching beadwork. The peplum is positioned over a simple skirt, which is finished with a delicate split along the front of the hemline, completing this dress in a truly timeless and iconic 1940's silhouette.

Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition. I believe that this dress has been dyed to the colour is it now. There are areas of colour variation to the crepe silk along the skirt line, where the crepe has been exposed to prolonged time in direct sunlight, which has cause the crepe to fade to a more pink tone. This is apparent along certain areas of the skirt-line, and is sadly a natural process for crepe silk if not cared for correctly. A large darker mark along the left hand side armpit, this is concealed by beadwork and is underneath the sleeve, so is not apparent when the dress is being worn. Colour variation is apparent along the shoulders of the dress, these appear lighter in colour. This details are not overly apparent when the dress is being worn and only apparent upon inspection.. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report. This dress has been priced accordingly.
Fastenings: This dress fastens along the nape with a hook and loop and a 20.5 inch metal zip.
