This truly mesmerising late 1930's cream wool coat, accented by a timeless herringbone weave and embellished with turquoise blue and gold beadwork with trailing gold metal thread embroidery, is a rare piece to behold.
The elegant rounded cut of the neckline joins centrally with a metal zip fastening, which runs along the length of the front of the bodice. The neckline is in turn embellished with a border of turquoise and black glass beadwork, accented by gold metal thread embroidery in a geometric design, which descends along either side of the front of the bodice, framing the zip fastening. Each side of the front of the bodice is embellished with a trailing floral design in beadwork and embroidery. The simple shoulder line, is accented by tailored Princess seams which run along the length of the front of the coat and internally sewn shoulder pads. The full length inset sleeves, boast sewn pleats along each of the tops of the sleeves, which create the iconic late 1930's shoulder line. The fitted waistline of the coat, accents the gently flared 1930's silhouette of the skirt line.

Closures: This coat fastens with a 20.5 inch metal zip.
Condition: This coat is in near perfect condition. There are a few small and gentle scattered darns to the wool throughout the coat. these have been done in matching wool and are sympathetic. Gentle colour variation to the cream wool externally, this is due to prolonged time in storage and is only apparent under very close inspection. These minor issues are not apparent when the coat is being worn and only noticeable upon closer inspection. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
