A phenomenal piece to behold, this original 1950's evening gown, rendered a sumptuous shade of Iris purple, embellished with cerulean blue trailing floral embroidery which is in turn decorated with deep purple sequins, is the perfect piece for that special occasion.
The strapless neckline of the dress features a straight cut, which is accented by a border of trailing abstract embroidery along the edges. The elegant fitted and boned bodice, is decorated with trailing floral embroidery which is set off by sewn purple sequins. The bodice is constructed on a purple rayon lining which has an iris purple tulle overlay. The cinched in waistline, is set off by the incredible full circle cut of the skirt, which features 5 layers of layered tulle above a purple rayon lining. The top layer of tulle is decorated with matching trailing blue floral embroidery and purple sequins, which sits beneath an abstract embroidered border to match the bodice. The layers of the skirt-line allow for this piece to not be worn with a petticoat.

Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition. A few very small and light rust marks along the back of the bodice to the cerulean blue floral embroidery. Gentle and light sequin loss to some of the floral embroidery throughout the dress. The sequins along the tulle petticoat have been sewn on rather than stitched down. The glued sequins along the skirt-line have lost some of their lustre and have a slight colour variation to them, some of them appear more grey and blue. Light and natural colour variation along the internal rayon lining, this appears darker in some areas and lighter in others. A few of the edges of the top layer of tulle along the hemline seem to be missing length, although this is not apparent when the dress is being worn. A small seam mend along the top tier of the tulle hemline where the tulle has been sewn back together. A few very small scattered seam mends along the internal layers of tulle. These minor issues are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn and only noticeable upon closer inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
