This truly majestic 1950's Frank Starr for Ted Shore gown, rendered in a beautiful cream satin and embellished with pale grey soutache embroidery and grey toned glass beadwork in a trailing floral design, is the perfect piece for that special occasion.
The strapless neckline of the dress, boasts a sweetheart décolletage, accented by the fitted and boned bodice, which sets off the floral soutache and beaded embroidery along the curved bust-panel and bodice. The cinched in waistline draws the eye to the pointed finish of the bodice and elegant drape of the cream satin skirt-line. The back of the dress is accented by pleated and gathered satin panels along the centre back of the waistline, which drape above two decorative panels, edged with grey thread fringing and is finished with soutache and beadwork embroidery, creating a bustle like feature. Finished with a subtle train, this truly mesmerising 1950's gown is a marvel to behold.

Closures: This dress fastens along the back with a 13.4 inch metal zip and a hook and loop
Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. Light and very natural bead loss within the beaded embroidered areas. Light and natural surfaces scratches to the satin throughout. A small age mark along the central panel of the skirt 5 inches below the pointed panel. Age marks and wear marks are apparent along the back train of the skirt along the hemline. ( these could be removed if the train of the dress was shortened) A very faint water mark along the right hand side of the skirt line just below the waistline . Light wear marks to the satin along the top edges of the bodice. These minor details are not apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable upon inspection.
