Rendered in the most elegant shade of duck egg blue Duchess satin and embellished with silver lined glass beads and bugle beads, with silver claw set rhinestone accents and ivory pearls, this original 1950's vintage cocktail dress, is just the piece for that special occasion.
The wide rounded neckline of the dress, is framed by mid-length inset sleeves. The fitted bodice is accented by a curved seam beneath the bust line, that joins either side seam below the sleeves. The fully embellished bodice follows the natural curve of the under-bust seam in a striped beaded pattern, contrasting the straight striped design along the base of the bodice. The cinched in and fitted waistline, draws the eye to the lightly flared design of the skirt, which boasts gathered pleats along each side of the waist seam, setting off the panelled cut of the skirt. Finished with an internal tiered tulle petticoat for added structure within the skirt, this dress showcases the iconic silhouette of the era.

Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. A few very small pin sized marks along the pleats to the front right hand side top of the skirt-line and one found along the left hand side. Gentle age marks and signs of wear along the lining and internal parts of the bodice. A few age marks to the internal rayon lining of the bodice. These minor details are well concealed within the pleats and internal areas of bodice and are not apparent when the dress is being worn. Fastenings: This dress fastens at the back with a 16 inch metal zip and two hook and eyes.
