Rendered in the most sumptuous black and floral satin with silk velvet flocking accents, this original 1950's dress and matching jacket is the perfect ensemble for that special occasion . The bold fuchsia pink silk velvet flowers and pale green flowers created a subtle textural contrast against the satin.
The rounded bateau neckline of the dress is framed by wide shoulder straps and a sleeveless cut. The tailored bodice, is accented by diagonal seams that run from each armhole to the central part of the waistband, joining the small bust seams. The fitted waistline, is accented by a piped satin feature, which draws the eye to the gathered pleats to either side of the front of the skirt-line. The simple skirt, completes this dress in a shift style silhouette.
The matching jacket boasts a rounded neckline with a turned down pointed collar which draws together with a discreet hook and loop fastening. The simple shoulder line sets off the mid length sleeves. The straight line cut of the jacket is finished with central black floral shaped buttons .
