A beauty to behold, this original 1940's cream silk embroidered coat, embellished with intricate embroidery in shades of blue, red, orange and tan, accented by soutache silver lamé embroidery and finished with cobalt blue silk piping, is a rare piece to behold.
The slim mandarin style collar is framed with cobalt blue silk ribbon piping, which edges either side of the front of the coat. The elegant shoulder line, sets off the dropped sleeve seams, accenting the bracelet length and incredible cuff details. The A line cut of the coat, is set off by side vents along either side of the hemline. Finished with cobalt blue frog and loop button fastenings and lined in cream tissue silk, this intricately embroidered piece showcases the craftsmanship of the era.

Condition: This jacket is in near perfect vintage condition. Very gentle age marks along the front of the neckline within the curved embroidery design. Very gentle age marks around the collar and neckline area, these are well concealed by the elaborate embroidery and only apparent under closer inspection. A small age mark along the front right hand side of the jacket at the top of the sleeve area. Very gentle age marks concealed within the embroidered details to the front of the coat. A few pin sized aged marks along the left hand side sleeve . Gentle pin sized age marks along the centre back of the coat along the central part of the shoulder blades. An age mark along the back right hand side of the coat at hip height, and one along the left. Light thread lifting to the embroidery in areas. Gentle tarnishing to the lamé threads of some of the embroidery. Some gentle surface scratches to the external cream silk. A few very light age marks to the lining along the back of the neckline. These details are in no way apparent when the coat is being worn and only noticeable upon close inspection. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
