Rendered in an iconic silhouette, this timeless 1960's raw silk and silk chiffon dress and jacket ensemble, embellished with statement glass beadwork in shades of pearlescent white, and silver with iridescent sequin accents, in a checkered pattern, is the perfect statement piece for your vintage collection.
The rounded neckline of the dress is framed by a cream raw silk bodice, which is embellished with beadwork. The medium width shoulder straps, set off the sleeveless cut, and draw the eye to the empire line cut of the bodice which is accented by a pointed notched beaded hemline. The near full circle cut of the silk chiffon skirt, drapes from gathered pleats below the empire line bust in a floating and pleated design which is completed by the elegant Ballerina length of the skirt-line. The skirt of the dress is composed of two layers of silk chiffon and lined in silk.
The truly magnificent jacket, is set off by a slim raised collar , which draws together along the front of the neckline with two hook and eyes. The simple shoulder line, sets off the full length sleeves, which frame the elegant cropped box cut of the jacket. The raw silk jacket is fully embellished with matching glass beadwork, to match the dress and sits perfectly above the notched and pointed empire line cut of the dress. This jacket is fully lined in silk
The square cut neckline is framed by a simple shoulder line and short capped sleeves. The empire cut of the bust-line, is accented by soft gathered pleats and a matching detailed bow that runs along the base of the bust. The straight column cut of the dress is set off by single pleats that radiate from the base of the bust-line along the length of the dress, completing this piece in an iconic silhouette. Finished with a square shaped backline, which boasts 2 matching covered button fastenings along the back panel, and a central metal zip along the back of the bodice.

Condition: This dress is near perfect vintage condition. A few very faint scattered age marks along the back of the dress below the edges of the bodice in the top pleated gathers of the skirt-line. A few very faint age marks along the front right hand side of the skirt-line below the bodice, these are well concealed within the pleats. A very faint age mark along the centre front of the skirt 4 inches below the bodice. A small seam mend along the back left hand side of the skirt-line, this also have a faint age mark to it, this is well concealed within the pleated drape of the silk chiffon. Two age marks along the central seam of the second layer of silk chiffon of the dress.
The matching jacket has an age mark along the front right hand side of the bust-line within the checkered pattern. Age marks along the base of the right hand side sleeve along the cuff and first layer of the pattern along the internal side of the sleeve. These details are well concealed by the lustre of the silk and level of the embellishments. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
