Rendered in the most sumptuous silk chiffon, and embellished with sparkling grey sequins and black glass beads, this original 1950's pleated dress in a true Jean Dessès fashion, is just the piece for your cocktail wardrobe.
The V shaped neckline is framed by thin silk chiffon shoulder straps, that contrast the elaborately embellished bust-line which is decorated with grey sequin and glass beads in a trailing floral design. The fitted boned bodice showcases gathered horizontal pleats and detailed panel seams, drawing the eye to the cinched in waistline. The waist is accented by the pointed pleated triangles along the base of the waistband and top of the skirt, setting off the drape and pleating, whilst accenting the structure of this rare piece. This skirt is lined in rayon for added volume, creating the iconic skirt-line of the 1950's. This dress has been photographed with a medium petticoat for added volume. This is not included within the listing.
