A beauty to behold, this original 1950's twill silk dress, with a wonderful sketched floral design in shades of pink, green, teal, blue, yellow, orange and lilac, set against a cream base and accented by glass beadwork, is just the piece to add to your vintage collection.
The bateau cut neckline is framed by a simple shoulder line and short capped sleeves. The elegant fitted bodice, is accented by decorative glass beadwork along the left hand side yoke, which accents the first two floral motifs along the bust-line. The bodice is sett off by tailored bust-seams and darts along either side of the front, which draw the eye to the fitted waistline. The cinched in waist, is accented by a matching twill silk piped detail, which draws together along the back of the waistline in a simple stylised bow. The wonderful line of the skirt, is set off by box pleats that run from either side of the front of the waistline and along the back of the skirt, completing this dress in a truly iconic 1950's silhouette. This dress has a single layered internal tulle petticoat which is sewn in along the internal part of the waist seam.
