Rendered in the most wonderful café au lait coloured lace and black silk, this original vintage 1930's cocktail dress, is just the piece to add to your art deco collection.
The V shaped neckline is framed by soft turned down lapels edged with delicate scalloped floral lace details which set off the elegant sleeveless cut, edged with matching scalloped lace along the armholes. The lace upper bodice of the dress features three different types of lace, all positioned beautifully against the black silk of the dress, creating a notched and scalloped feature along the bust-line, which is finished with a silk chiffon and lace edged stylised bow positioned centrally. The contrasting black rayon mix bodice, draws in along the waistline, setting off the pointed art deco seams along the front of the hipline, which set off the bias cut of the bottom of the hemline, completing this dress in a timeless and iconic 1930's silhouette. The lace bodice is lined in silk chiffon and is slightly cheer.

Condition: This dress is in near perfect condition. There are some colour variations to the lace bodice, darker areas along the armpits. The silk chiffon lining along the bodice has sympathetic mends along each shoulder seam to strengthen the silk internally. The silk chiffon lining has staining along the armpits internally. The lace beneath either side of the armpits appears lighter in colour. These minor details are in not apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable upon close inspection.
