"Satin & Soutache" Vintage 1950's Ice Blue Satin Embellished Halter Neck Dress UK 10 US 6
Made in the most sumptuous shade of ice blue satin, this incredible 1950's halter neck dress, is a rare piece to behold and never again find.
Her thin satin strap halter neckline runs from the décolletage and loops to the front with a simple hook and loop. Her pointed panelled bust-line is accented by the boned fitted bodice, and embellished with trailing metal thread soutache, ab iridescent plastic round bubble beads, sequins and rhinestones. (The incredible embellishments make the most pleasing noise when you shimmy in the dress)
Her bust-line features a step away design, in which cotton tulle has been pleated along the top of the bust, to add volume between the two satin panels. ( this is not visible externally )
Her cinched in waistline, is accented by the central pointed seam, that sets off the elegant drape of the full circle satin skirt.
The internal construction of the bodice features boning, bias binding, an internal waist band, and an elasticated under bust band, to aid in securing the dress when its worn.
This dress has been photographed with a medium petticoat for added volume, this is not included in the listing.

Closures: This dress fastens to the back with a 12 inch metal zip and a hook and eye. Internally with a gabardine waist band and a hook and eye, and an elasticated under-bust band.
Condition: This dress is in loved and beautiful vintage condition. Natural and light impressions to the satin throughout. The skirt has a few age marks and some light colour variation to the satin ( this appears to be daylight related variation, (this happens when a piece is exposed to sunlight for prolonged amounts of time) . These minor issues are not apparent when the dress is being worn, as your eye is naturally drawn to the incredibly embellished bodice.
Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
