A vision in rose pink, this original vintage 1940's silk chiffon evening gown, accented by draped and gathered pleats, is the perfect piece for that special occasion.
The square cut neckline, is framed by a simple shoulder line, set off by gathered pleats along each shoulder seam, which radiate along the yokes, whilst setting off the short length sleeves. The fitted bodice, boasts three double stitched seams, from which the silk chiffon pleats and gathers, creating a fully pleated bodice, in a horizontal pattern. The bodice is accented by an elegant sash, which drapes from the right hand side yoke and joins the left side seam of the bodice. The fitted waistline, draws the eye to the elegant drape of the silk chiffon along the skirt-line, set off by gathered pleated sashes along each hipline which drape along the length of the front of the skirt. Finished with a lowered hemline along the back of the gown, and lined in blush pink rayon along the bodice and length of the skirt.

Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition. A very faint mark along the central part of the front of the skirt. A small darn along the bottom of the right hand side skirt sash. Two small pin sized age marks along the bottom right hand side of the skirt line. A small and light mark along the lower left hand side of the front of the skirt line. A very small and sympathetic darn along the left hand side, side seam along the zip fastening. A small pin hole along the back left hand side of the skirt line, 7.5 inches down from the waistline. A small darn along the back left hand side of the hemline near the side seam. These minor issues are not overly apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable upon inspection.
Fastenings: This dress fastens along the side seam with an 11 inch metal zip.
Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
