Rendered in the most figure flattering silhouette, this original vintage 1940's black crepe silk dress, accented by rhinestone bow details, is the perfect statement piece for your cocktail wardrobe.
The rounded neckline, is framed by an eye-catching shoulder line, which is accented by internally sewn shoulder pads and decorated with smocking stitches along the top of each shoulder seam, which drape into subtle pleats along each yoke. Each shoulder is decorated with a rhinestone embellished bow, which drapes along either side of the shoulders. The 3/4 length inset sleeves, are finished with triple tailored darts, which allow for ease of movement along the elbows. The simple bodice, draws the eye to the cinched in waistline, which is decorated with a matching silver rhinestone bow along the front left hand side. The elegant skirt, boasts a mock cross-over cut, which drapes from the front left hand side of the waistline in gathered pleats, along either side of the bow, creating a subtle sash design along the hipline. The rounded hemline of the top cross-over design of the skirt, sets off the simple and elegant silhouette of this piece.

Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. Very gentle colour variation along the top of the left hand side sleeve and shoulder line, this is also ever so slightly apparent along the top of the right hand side shoulder line. This is a natural process for crepe silk when exposed to prolonged sunshine exposure. Light and natural tarnishing to the zip fastening along the side seam. These minor elements are not apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable under close inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
Fastenings: This dress fastens along the nape with a 10.2 inch metal zip and along the side seam with 13.2 inch metal zip.
Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
