A rare piece to behold and never again find, this original 1920's silk velvet coat rendered in a vibrant shade of raspberry pink and embellished with silver claw set rhinestones and silver glass bugle beads, is the perfect statement piece for your vintage collection.
The open design of the neckline is framed by a wide ruched and gathered collar, which is set off by matching piping, from which the velvet gathers between each collar panel. The wide design of the collar, sits above the simple shoulder line. The 3/4 length sleeves, are embellished with trailing glass beadwork and silver claw set rhinestones along each external side of the cuffs and forearms. The elegant longline silhouette of the coat, is finished with delicate beadwork along the hemline, which trails up along either side of the edge to edge cut. Finished with beadwork along the back of the hemline, which trails up along the central part, this truly opulent 1920's coat showcases the craftsmanship and design of the era.

Condition: This coat is in near perfect vintage condition. Natural and light impression marks to the silk velvet throughout, this is a natural process for silk velvet. A small black linear mark along the external side of the left hand side sleeve. A few very small pinholes holes along the left hand side front hemline. A small linear black mark along the right hand side cuff . A small linear mark along the back right hand side of the coat near the sleeve seam.. Added beadwork along the bottom right hand side of the back hemline, to conceal a scattering of small holes and wear to the velvet. This has been done sympathetically and with original 1920's glass beads and rhinestones. The wear is still slightly apparent beneath the beadwork, but the embellishments conceal most of the damage. The added rhinestone embellishments have more silver lustre than the originals. The silver claw set rhinestones have lost their silver lustre and appear more grey, this is a process that has happened with age and time. These minor details do not detract from the beauty or wearability of this piece. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
