This mesmerising 1940's silk dress, with a vibrant poppy print surrounded by bold and bright green foliage, surrounding a floral palette of reds, lights and purples with white highlights on a black silk background is a rare piece to behold.
The V shaped neckline is framed by triple pleat seams along the shoulder seams that radiate down each yoke and join the front of the bodice in soft pleats, that join radiating seams along the centre front of the waistline. The simple shoulder line is accented by internal shoulder pads, that set off the short length sleeves. The elegant fitted bodice, draws the eye to the cinched in waistline, which is set off by a matching silk waist belt, that draws in along the front of the waist and can be tied in a decorative bow. The front of the waist is accented by the beginning of the elegant central double panelled sash that pleats and drapes along the central seam, creating effortless and decadent movement to the silk. The simple skirt-line frames the feature design. Finished with double button and loop fastenings along the nape and a keyhole open back feature, which joins button and loop fastenings along the base of the back.

Vintage garments have been previously worn and lovingly cared for, they may however have a blemish or two. Here at Willow Hilson, we try our very best to note all the details of each garment, although we may sometimes overlook things, which we do apologise for. Please do not expect perfection, unless stated so.
Please make sure you check all the measurements of the garment before purchasing. Vintage garment sizes are not the same as those of today. To ensure the best fit, we suggest you measure you favourite similar style garment and compare it to the measurements we have listed. All our measurements are taken whilst the garment is lying flat, we then double these measurements to reflect the actual size.
