This truly magnificent 1920's tapestry handbag, with a pattern of blooming flowers and butterflies, surrounded by plush foliage in the most vibrant and colour palette, is a rare piece to behold.
The rounded shape of the clutch bag, is set off by a raised brass frame, which is decorated with lapis cabochons, surrounded by raised brass metal work and twisted brass wire, creating and intricate trailing design. The brass pull tab fastening is positioned along the centre front of the bag and opens to a deep purple satin lining with two small side pockets edged with gold leather piping, framing the central compartment. Finished with a small loop handle along the reverse of the bag, every detail of this truly magnificent clutch bag showcases the opulence of the era.

Condition: In wonderful vintage condition, with general tarnishing and light wear to the brass frame. The leather piping along the lining has signs of light wear. Light and natural wear to the satin lining. There are a few areas along the tapestry where there appears to be age marks but this is really well concealed by the tapestry itself and only noticeable when looking at the base cream colour. These minor details are not apparent when the bag is being used, and do not detract from the incredible beauty of this piece.
