Rendered in the softest shade of cream silk organza, in an ethereal pleated accent design, this original 1930's vintage gown, is a rare piece to behold.
The high rounded neckline is framed by a rolled piped organza edge, which draws the eye to the elegant sewn tuck pleats along the front of the bodice. The simple shoulder line, is accented by a pleated silk organza panel, which is sewn in place along either side of the front of the bodice, framing the tuck pleats, matching the design along the back of the bodice, where it frames the delicate button and loop fastenings. The pleated panel sits elegantly above each shoulder seam, which are lined internally with small silk organza shoulder pads, setting off the short length puffed sleeves, which are edged with fitted cuffs and smocking stitches, creating subtle pleats along the external side of each sleeve. The fitted waistline, is accented by smocking stitches along the seams, which allow for the dress to drape in pleats along the length, joining the double tiered ruffled pleated hemline. The back of the dress is accented by a matching pleated panel, which joins the back of the waistline and continues along the back of the skirt-line, creating a pleated detail along the drape of the silk organza.
This dress is sheer and may need to be worn with a slip to conceal ones' modesty.

Fastenings: This dress fastens along the back with 33 button and loops, two hook and eyes and two concealed press studs.
Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition. Both sleeves have been mended along the underside, where the original silk showed signs of wear. These have been mended with matching silk organza in patch mends to strengthen the areas. The is a small patch mend to the silk organza along the top of the right hand side shoulder. A small seam mend along the left hand side of the bodice running up from the waist seam. Gentle and natural wear to the button and loop fastenings through general use. A dark three spot age mark along the bottom right hand side of the hemline to the tiered edge. These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn as they are well concealed within the drape and design of the dress.
