This mesmerising 1930's opal green silk and silver lamé evening gown, with an intricate and bold floral pattern, is a rare piece to behold
The V shaped neckline, draws the eye to the subtle pleats along each yoke, which gather beneath the elegantly rounded and pleated short caped sleeves, which drape along either side of the top of the arms. The shoulder line, boasts internally sewn shoulder pads, which enable the elegant drape of the pleats along each sleeve. The simple bodice, draws in along the waistline, setting off the wonderful drape of the skirt line, which showcases a longer hemline along the back. The back of the gown, is accented by gathered smocking stitches along each of the back yokes, which create draped pleats along either side of the V shaped backline, which draws in centrally with delicate matching lamé button and loop fastenings. Finished with a smocking stitch panel below the waist seam, which creates subtle pleats along the back of the skirt line, this incredible 1930's evening gown showcases the craftsmanship and design of the era.

Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition. Gentle yellowing to the silk and lamé along each armpit area and along some of the pleated sleeve areas to each side. There is a very gentle age mark along the front of the bodice at bust-height, this is well concealed within the lamé and colour of the gown and only apparent upon close inspection. Tarnishing to the lamé along each armhole area . Gentle and light tarnishing to the silver lamé throughout the gown. These minor imperfections are not overly apparent when the gown is being worn and only noticeable upon close inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
