An iconic silhouette to behold, this original early 1950's Suzy Perette navvy blue silk faille dress, is just the piece to welcome to your vintage collection.
The elegant shawl cut lapels, contour the V shaped neckline and draw the eye to the elegant mock double breasted fastening along the front of the bodice. The shoulder line, draws the eye to the dolman cut bracelet length sleeves, which boast turned up cuffs accented by vents along each internal side. The tailored cut of the bodice, is set off by tailored darts that run up from the waistline to beneath either side of the bust-line. The cinched in waistline, is accented by a matching faille silk belt. The elegant near full circle cut of the skirt-line boasts box pleats which radiate along either side of the front of the dress, creating subtle pleats which frame the matching faille silk covered button fastenings, completing this dress in a truly iconic New Look silhouette.

Closures: This dress fastens along the front with 7 faille silk covered buttons and a concealed hook and eye along the waistline.
Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition. The front of the belt along the belt holes shows signs of wear to the external faille silk and creasing to the underside with wear to the underside of the belt. A small darn along the back of the left hand seam of the bodice and another along the right hand side.There is wear to the edges of the faille silk along the back of the skirt-line to the left hand side of the hemline. These minor imperfections are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn and only noticeable upon close inspection. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
