This elegant 1930's gown, rendered in the most incredible shades of mermaid blue silk, set off by cream and taupe floral lace accents, is just the piece to welcome to your lingerie collection.
The soft V shaped neckline is framed by a border of softly scalloped floral lace, which triangulates outwards along each yoke, setting off the delicate smocking stitches which sit nestled beneath the lace panel. The simple shoulder line, sets off the short capped sleeves, which gather in soft pleats beneath smocking stitches along each shoulder seam. The sleeves and armholes are edged with a border of cream and taupe lace. The bodice, is accented by soft pleats which radiate across the bust-line from the smocking stitches positioned above, and join the base smocking stitches below the bust. The pleats along the top of the bodice are framed by trailing floral lace appliqués. The waistline is drawn in along the back with matching silk ties, which fasten in a simple bow. Finished with a bias cut along the length of the skirt line, which accents the central vent framed by lace along the front of the hemline, and a rectangular shaped backline edged with lace, this gown skims the silhouette whilst showcasing the iconic design of the era.
