Rendered in the most joyful shade of canary yellow contrasted by a white linen bodice which is intricately decorated with floral lace appliqués and metal studs, this original 1950's linen mix dress and jacket ensemble is the perfect addition to your vintage collection.
The rounded neckline of the dress is framed by medium shoulder straps which set off the sleeveless cut. The fitted bodice is accented by tailored darts along either side and below the bust-line. The top of the bodice is intricately decorated with cotton floral lace appliqués died in ombré shades of yellow and white, which are in turn decorated with claw set metal studs in shades of yellow and white. The fitted waist-line of the dress is accented by a tailored waist panel, which draws the eye to the triple box pleats along either side of the top of the skirt-line, completing this dress in a timeless silhouette. The dress is lined in fine cotton.
The matching jacket, sits perfectly above the dress and features a rounded neckline framed by a soft Peter Pan collar. The simple shoulder line, sets off the 3/4 length inset sleeves. The elegant line of the jacket features tailored bust-darts which run from below the bust and join the seam panel above the hemline. The jacket fastens with 3 matching covered buttons along the centre. Finished with a stylised belt along the belt, which is comprised of two piped strands, which join the jacket beneath covered buttons along either side of the backline. The jacket is lined in yellow rayon along the bodice.

Condition: This ensemble is in near perfect vintage condition. The jacket has a small pink coloured line mark above the second button hole. The dress shows slight signs of wear to the claw set metal studs which have lost their enamel paint in some areas. There is a small linear line mark along the back left hand side of the dress at the height of the bottom of the zip. These minor issues are not visible when the dress is being worn, and do not in any way detract from the beauty or quality of this piece.Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
