Made in the most sumptuous gold silk satin, this original 1930's dress and matching jacket, is a rare set to behold and never again find.
The sweetheart neckline of the dress is framed by wide shoulder straps, and central pleated gathers along the centre front of the décolletage that gathers soft pleats along the bust-line. The detail pointed under-bust seam of the dress sets off the bias cut, that skims the silhouette and drapes elegantly to the hemline, showcasing the magnificent silk satin. The back of the dress boasts a V shaped backing with central gold button and loop fastenings and a central train panel that sits above the skirt-line creating added drape to the satin.
The wonderful matching jacket, is accented by a V shaped neckline and framed by pointed lapels. The elegant shoulder line is set off by draped circular sleeve panels that pleat along the shoulder seam, which are set off by internally sewn shoulder pads, and drape across the arm in an ouvert sleeve design, creating the illusion of a cape. The double breasted cut is finished with matching silk satin gold buttons, completing this ensemble in an iconic and simple breathtaking silhouette.
