Rendered in the most breathtaking lilac coloured silk organza and accented by decadent pleats and a large statement bow, this original 1950's evening gown is a true piece of fashion history.
The strapless cut of the dress is accented by a straight cut neckline. The elegant fitted line of the bodice, which boasts internal boning that lines the length of the dress to the hipline, draws the eye to the truly mesmerising micro pleating, which features a cross-over braided design along the front left hand side. The cinched in waistline, sets off the longer line of the pleated features, which is finished with a large statement silk organza bow along the left hand side of the hipline.
The wonderful line of the skirt, is accented by gathered pleats that radiate from the base of the pleated bodice, completing this dress in an iconic 1950's evening wear silhouette. The skirt is fully lined in a pale lilac coloured rayon and a thick layer of interfacing. The bodice is fully boned and lined in rayon.

Closures: This dress fastens at the back with a 18 inch metal zip and and a hook and eye, a hook in eye internally along the back of the cotton petticoat.
Condition: This dress is in perfect vintage condition. Very faint discolouration and gentle yellowing along the armpits, this is incredibly minor and not apparent when the dress is being worn. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
