Rendered in vibrant shade of red wool and decorated with cream wool soutache embroidery, edged with gold lamé soutache embroidery, in a trailing floral design, and finished with claw set silver rhinestones, this original early 1940's piece is sure to bring cheer to your seasonal wardrobe.
The soft V shaped neckline of the cape is framed by a simple slopping shoulder line, accented by shoulder pads along each shoulder seam. The elegant shoulder line and yokes are decorated with trailing cream wool floral soutache embroidery, edged with gold lamé accents, and contoured with a scattering of silver claw set rhinestones, this embroidery can be found along the back of the neckline and nape. The length of the cape is set off by the wonderful drape of the wool and small side slits in which one can thread ones arms. Fully lined in red coloured rayon, this phenomenal piece is sure to be a seasonal favourite in your collection.

Fastenings: 4 Hook and eyes along the centre front of the cape.
Size: UK 10-16 US 6-12
Condition: In near Perfect vintage condition. Some gentle lifting to some of the wool and lamé threads along the soutache embroidery designs. Tarnishing to the claw set rhinestones, these appear more grey and have lost some of their lustre. A small darn along the front right hand side of the cape, above the arm slit. Two small darns along the left hand side front of the cape beneath the edges of the soutache embroidery pattern. A few small darns along the front right hand side of the hemline. Three darns along the front left hand side of the cape at midway height. Darns along the back of the hemline. A darn to the back left hand side of the cape below the soutache pattern. These darns have been done sympathetically and in matching red wool. These are not overly apparent when the cape is being worn and only noticeable upon closer inspection. A few faint age marks to the red rayon lining. Very light and gentle areas of discolouration to the pink satin lining. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the product description.
