This truly magnificent 1940's black velvet Princess coat, rendered in an iconic and timeless silhouette and fully lined in wool and silk, is the perfect statement piece for your winter wardrobe.
The V shaped neckline is framed by a pointed collar. The elegant shoulder line is accented by internally sewn shoulder pads along each shoulder seam, which draw the eye to the dropped sleeve seams, which begin at bust-line height. The full length sleeves, frame the tailored line of the fitted bodice, which draws in centrally with large faceted black glass button fastenings. The cinched in waistline, sets off the iconic line of the skirt, which is finished with side pockets along each side seam. This coat is fully lined in a wool backing and a silk lining, which means it is very heavy.
