A beauty to behold. This original 1940's ivory crepe silk gown, embellished with silver glass claw set rhinestones, is the perfect piece for that special occasion.
The elegant squared V shaped neckline is contoured by a swirling pattern of silver claw set rhinestones. The simple shoulder line is accented by shoulder pads along the top of each shoulder seam and sleeve, setting off the short length sleeves which are edged with a swirling pattern of claw set rhinestones along each cuff. The fitted bodice, boasts tailored darts along either side of the base of the bodice which radiate in subtle pleats along the base of the bust-line. The cinched in waistline, draws the eye to the eye-catching swirling pattern of claw set rhinestones below the waistline, which set off the panel cut of the skirt, which has a bias cut , allowing for the silk to drape elegantly along the silhouette, to set off the near full circle cut hemline.

Condition: This dress is in good but not vintage condition. There is a curved lined of gentle wear to the crepe silk along the front of the skirt-line this begins along the right hand side hipline and curves along towards the left hand side of the skirt-line - This is only apparent when the dress is directly held up to the light and well concealed within the natural drape of the crepe silk. Colour variation to the silver claw set rhinestones throughout, some of these appear to be a darker shade of silver, this is a natural process for claw set rhinestones. A light scattering of pin sized age marks along the back right hand side shoulder line. A small age mark along the back left hand side shoulder line. The crepe silk shows colour variation throughout the dress and in some areas appears to be a slightly different shade of grey ivory, this is not overly apparent but is more visible along the skirt-area of the dress, the drape of the crepe silk does conceal this well. These colour variation is also apparent along the back of the bodice and shoulder line. Two small light age marks along the back left hand side of the skirt-line within the claw set rhinestone embellishments. These minor details are not overly apparent when the dress is being worn and only noticeable upon closer inspection. This piece has been priced accordingly.
