Rendered in the most incredible ivory satin, and finished with delicate matching covered button and loop fastenings, this magnificent 1930's gown is a true piece of fashion history.
The straight cut bateau neckline, is framed by a simple shoulder line, accented by the edges of the notched square collar which sits along the backline, these appear as delicate triangular details along either side of the edges of the shoulder seams. The full length sleeves are cut in a wonderful bishop design, gathering in elaborate pleats and volume along the central part of the sleeve, setting off the fitted forearms, which are finished with pointed cuffs which draw in along each internal side with concealed press studs. The fitted bodice, is accented by curved seams along each side, from which pleats gently radiate, setting off the fitted waistline. The elegant panelled cut of the skirt line, drapes along the silhouette and is finished with a central back train, in a rectangular design. The back of the gown, is set off by a back collar, which draws the eye to the central button and loop fastenings, which run along the length of the bodice, completing this piece in a truly mesmerising Art deco design.

Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition.A faint water mark along the centre lower part of the front of the skirt-line. This appears to have been stain treated and appears to be a fairer shade of ivory. There are fold indentations to the satin along the front and back of the gown along the lower waistline and hipline area. There are very faint water marks along the pleats of the bateau cut neckline, again these appear to have been treated and appear to to be a fairer shade of ivory. Similar marks can be found along the collar positioned along the back of the dress and along the central part of the backline - these ones are more apparent in certain lights. There is an age mark along the top button loop. A small linear black pen mark along the lower part of the back right hand side of the skirt-line. Gentle areas of wear and signs of discolouration to the edges of the back train. Gentle surface scratches to the satin in a few areas of the skirt-line. These minor issues are not apparent when the dress is being worn, and only visible under very close inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
