This truly spectacular 1940's ivory satin blouse, with sparkling silver bugle bead and large claw set rhinestone embellishments, is a rare piece to behold.
The rounded cowl neckline is framed by a trio of pleats along the front and edged with pointed details along the satin shoulder straps, from which satin triangular panels drape to either side of the shoulder line, creating the illusion of fluttered sleeves to the sleeveless cut of the blouse. The elegant cut of the blouse boasts triple darts beneath the bustling, that radiate into soft pleats across the bodice. The cinched in waistline is accented by an elaborately beaded and embellished waist panel, that fastens and crosses over along the back of the blouse. The beadwork emulates the tail feather designs of peacocks. The satin hemline flares slightly. The backline of the back is accented by a deep V vape which gathers in pleats as it drapes to meet the waistline.

Closures: 6 press studs and a hook and eye along the side seam, 4 press studs along the back of the beaded panel.
Condition: This blouse is in well loved and not perfect vintage condition. Surface scratches to the satin throughout. A small pin size black mark to the left hand side of the bust line. A small pin sized age mark beneath the waistline to the left hand side of the hemline. A linear age mark to the right hand side of the bust line within the draped pleated area. Age marks within the drape pleated panels to either side of the shoulder lines. Internal age marks to the satin. A small mend to the left hand side side seam above the fastenings. Three large claw set rhinestones missing from the back of the belt.Light and natural beadwork loss. These issues are not overly apparent when the blouse is being worn and well concealed within the drape and pleats, alongside the natural sheen on the satin.
Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
