This truly enchanting 1940's black crepe silk dress, embellished with pink sequins and green and yellow glass beads in a trailing and scattered rose design, is the perfect show stopper for your vintage collection.
The rounded neckline of the dress, is framed by a double layered cream tulle illusion panel which runs from the shoulder lines and contours the neckline and décolletage. The cream tulle is in turn embellished with a pattern of scattered rose buds and trailing roses in sequins and beads. The elegant shoulder line is set off by internally sewn shoulder pads along each shoulder seam. The short length inset sleeves feature delicate rounded slits along each external side. The fitted bodice features a central seam, which draws the eye to the fitted waistline, which is in turn accented by a matching crepe silk belt, which can be worn tied to the front or along the back of the dress. Finished with a simple panelled cut skirt-line and button and loop fastenings along the nape, every detail of this dress showcases the craftsmanship and design of the era.

Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. A very small pin hole to the tulle along the front right hand side of the neckline. Very gentle discolouration along the pipped tulle edge contouring the neckline. Gentle wear to the edges of the button and loop fastenings, with minor thread lifting. Gentle wear to the internal layer of tulle along the illusion neckline ( this is in no way apparent externally). These minor details are not apparent when the dress is being worn and only apparent upon inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
Fastenings: This dress fastens along the nape with a 10 button and loops and along the side of the waistline with a concealed 9 inch metal zip.
