A beauty to behold. This original 1940's dress, rendered in a cream crepe silk, with a pattern of blooming hibiscus flowers in sunsets shades of reds, oranges and yellows, with green leaf accents, is just the piece for that special occasion.
The deep V shaped neckline sets off the cross over cut of the dress, as it draws in along the left hand side of the waistline, beneath a concealed press stud fastening. The simple shoulder line, is accented with seamed panels, from which small gathered pleats radiate along the front of each yoke. The wide full length sleeves, boast a decorative floral hibiscus print along the side of the left sleeve. The bodice of the dress is accented by tailored darts above the wait-line which join the gathered pleats that drape from the shoulder lines. The cinched in waistline, which draws in internally with crepe silk ties, sets off the drape of the skirt line, which is accented with trailing hibiscus flowers along the right hand side.

Closures: This dress fastens internally with a silk tie and externally with a press stud fastening.
Condition: This dress is in perfect vintage condition. A small pin sized age mark along the right hand side top panel of the hemline. Some light colours bleed to the hibiscus floral print and some light and natural colour variation to the crepe silk. These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
