This truly breathtaking 1940's black crepe silk evening gown and matching jacket, embellished with a trailing floral pattern of a multitude of different black glass beads, is the perfect show stopper for your vintage collection.
The cross over V shaped neckline of the gown, boasts seams along the front of each yoke, from which small pleats drape across the décolletage and bust-line. The cross over design, draws in along the neckline with a concealed hook and eye and joins the side seam, accenting the asymmetrical beaded floral design which runs along the right hand side of the bodice and joins the decorated cinched in waistline. The simple shoulder line, is accented by internally sewn shoulder pads, which set off the full length sleeves, edged with concealed zip fastenings along each internal side of the cuffs. The beadwork along the waistline, continues along the front of the dress in a peplum design, accenting the hipline whilst setting off the dramatic drape of the skirt-line.
The matching jacket, sits perfectly above the gown and boasts a V shaped neckline, which draws in along the hemline with three concealed hook and eyes. The elegant shoulder line, is accented by internally sewn shoulder pads, completing the silhouette of the set in an iconic design. The full length inset sleeves frame the fitted cut, which is embellished with floral glass beadwork along either side of the front of the jacket and hemline. Finished with a Tiffany blue silk lining. The dress is not lined.
