Rendered in the most vibrant shade of Fuchsia pink silk chiffon and embellished with silver claw set rhinestones, this original 1930's dress and matching capelet ensemble is just the perfect statement piece for your vintage collection.
The square cut of the neckline is framed by medium width shoulder straps, which are fully embellished with claw set rhinestones, setting off the elegant rhinestone embellished edged along the top of the bodice. The fitted bodice, is accented by small gathered pleats which radiate across the bust-line and join the fitted waistline. The elegant bias cut of the skirt-line, skims the silhouette in a full bias cut, which flares out into a full circle along the hemline.
The matching cape, boasts a fitted collar, which is fully embellished with silver claw set rhinestones and fastens along the front with two matching button and loops.The simple shoulder seams, set off the wonderful drape of the silk chiffon which hangs elegantly down the front of the bodice and boasts generous side slits which leave the arms exposed when worn. The back of the cape boasts a shorter length.

Closures: This dress fastens along the side seam with 6 press studs and a hook and eye. The capulet fastens with 2 button and loops
Condition: This dress is in good and well loved condition. The original silk chiffon shoulder straps have been replaced with matching cotton and in turn embellished with all the original rhinestones. The border of rhinestones around the top of the bodice has had replacement rhinestones put in. The silk chiffon around the rhinestones along the top of the bodice has areas of light thinning and has been mended to be strengthened in areas. There is yellowing along the armpits, and a darn along the right hand side armpit. The skirt has a small dot age mark 4 inches below the central part of the waistline, and a larger cluster of age marks further down. These marks are concealed within the pleats and the drape of the dress, but are noticeable upon inspection. Age marks along the bottom left hand side of the hemline. A few very light areas of colour variation to the silk chiffon in the skirt, this appears to be due to prolonged exposure to sun rays during its lifetime. The cape is in good but not perfect vintage condition. The silk along the rhinestone embellished collar has a few minor areas of thinning and has been darns accordingly to strengthen the silk. The original silk chiffon button loops have been changed to ribbon loops as the original silk was too fragile to use. Some of the rhinestones along the collar have been replaced. The cape has a large scattering of age marks along the left hand side yoke. Two very small darns along the front left hand side panel. A seam mend along the back of the right hand side shoulder seam. Two very small pin holes along the back of the right hand side of the cape. Three darns along the back left hand side panel of the cape, and a light scattering of age marks. This dress is still in very wearable condition but we recommend it go to a vintage loving home as it is in well loved condition. This dress has been priced accordingly.
