Rendered in the most vibrant floral palette in shades of blue, purple, yellow, orange fuchsia and Lila, set against a navy blue base, this original 1940's silk dress is the perfect piece to welcome the warmer weather with.
The V shaped neckline, is framed by rounded panels, which cross over along the front of the décolletage and bodice and join each side seam along the waistline. The simple shoulder line sets off the flutter sleeve detail, which boasts simple pleats along the top of each shoulder seam, creating subtle draping. The sleeve detail joins the rounded panels which frame the neckline and top of the backline, framing the delicate button and loop fastenings along the nape. The fitted bodice, is accented by tailored darts, which draw the eye to the cinched in waistline. The simple bias cut skirt, drapes from the waist seam, completing this dress in a timeless 1940's silhouette.

Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition. There are age marks along the contouring neckline panels, and fluttered sleeves. Discolouration and colour fading along the armpits. Gentle wear and slight pulling to the silk along the cross over panels of the bodice. Gentle foxing and age marks along the hemline. Age marks to the back of the bodice along the back of the neckline. Wear to the silk covering of the buttons along the nape, the 5th one down has a portion of the silk missing. These details are not overly apparent when the dress is being worn as the age marks and foxing blend in within the floral pattern. Pease refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report. This dress has been priced accordingly.
