This darling 1940's French Blue cotton day dress, with a pattern of embroidered white polkadots and delicate lace details, is just the piece to add to your seasonal vintage collection.
The rounded neckline is frames by a Peter Pan collar, edged with delicate scalloped white lace. The simple shoulder line, sets off the short length puffed sleeves, which are accented by gathered pleats along each external side, positioned above delicate lace details along each cuff. The fitted bodice, draws the eye to the pointed waist panel, which is framed by lace borders, which set off the delicate gathered pleats that radiate upwards below each side of the bust-line. The cinched in waistline, accents the full circle cut of the skirt-line, completing this piece in a timeless and iconic silhouette.
The cotton of this dress is fine and has an element of sheerness to it. We recommend the use of a slid dress to conceal ones' modesty.

Closures: This dress fastens along the side seam with a 7.5 inch metal zip and along the nape with 4 press studs.
Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. There is a small pin sized darn along the back right hand side of the skirt-line just below the lace detail of the waistline. his is in no way apparent when the dress is being worn and has been done sympathetically. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
