This magnificent 1910's Edwardian lawn cotton dress, with detailed embroidery and lace accents is a rare piece to behold.
The rounded neckline of the dress, is framed by a delicate lace border which sets off the trailing floral embroidery along the front of the bust-line and décolletage, which is in turn framed by a wide scalloped edge lace collar, which draws in centrally beneath the embroidery with a press stud fastening. The elegant shoulder line, is concealed by the wide lace collar, which drapes along the back of the nape. The 3/4 length inset sleeves boast trailing floral embroidery along each external side, which is set off by wide lace cuffs. The timeless blouson cut of the bodice, boasts gathered pleats that radiate upwards from the waistline, setting off the delicate waist-panel, whilst concealing the press stud and hook fastenings. The wonderful line of the skirt, is accented by gathered pleats that radiate from the waistband, and drape along the length of the skirt, which boasts a wide lace tier about the simple hemline. This dress is made of fine lawn cotton and has an element of sheerness to it, we recommend to use of a petticoat, to conceal ones modesty.
