A true masterpiece of its time, this original 1940's chestnut brown crepe silk skirt suit, with Bordeaux blue buttons, is the perfect addition to your tailored vintage wardrobe.
The elegant V shaped neckline of the jacket is framed by a slim shawl collar. The shoulder line is set off by internally sewn shoulder pads. The bracelet length inset sleeves are accented by delicate pleats along the top of each shoulder. The tailored cut of the jacket, boasts darts below either side of the bust-line, which draw the eye to the fitted cut and cinched in waistline. The long-line cut of the jacket, boasts 4 pleats along either side of the base of the waist seam, which create elegant pleated drapes below the waistline and along the top of the hipline, setting off the petal cut of the front of the hemline. The matching skirt, sits perfectly beneath the jacket and features a simple matching waistline. The straight line silhouette of the skirt is finished with an inverted pleats along each side seam. This suit in not lined.

Vintage garments have been previously worn and lovingly cared for, they may however have a blemish or two. Here at Willow Hilson, we try our very best to note all the details of each garment, although we may sometimes overlook things, which we do apologise for. Please do not expect perfection, unless stated so.
Please make sure you check all the measurements of the garment before purchasing. Vintage garment sizes are not the same as those of today. To ensure the best fit, we suggest you measure your favourite similar style garment and compare it to the measurements we have listed.
