Rendered in the most eye-catching shades of salmon, in a sultry silk taffeta, this original 1950's cocktail dress is sure to be a favourite within your vintage collection.
The rounded neckline of the dress is framed by a simple shoulder line and short capped sleeves. The fitted bodice, is accented by tailored dart seams which draw the eye to the piped edge feature below the bust-line which curves and joins in a central point. The fitted bodice, is accented by panelled seams, which set off the fitted waistline, whilst accenting the elegant near full circle cut of the skirt-line. The back of the dress, features a matching piped edged detail along the backline, which joins in a point centrally. The back of the skirt-line features a central bow, from which a draped panel of darker salmon coloured silk taffeta is overlaid over the skirt line, and joins the back of the hemline in a tulip stitch, creating added volume, whilst setting off the slightly longer hemline along the back of the dress. This dress is not lined.

Closures: This dress fastens along the back central seam with a 15 inch metal zip, a press stud beneath the bow and a hook and loop along the top of the backline.
Condition: This dress is in good vintage condition. There are two small age marks along the top of the right hand side sleeve. A larger faint water mark along the top of the skirt-line at hipline height below the waistline. A small pin sized age mark along the top of the left hand side sleeve. A few minor surface scratches to the silk taffeta along the back of the bodice. A few very minor and light age marks concealed within the skirt line. These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn and only noticeable upon closer inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the product description.
