This darling 1940's black crepe silk dress, accented by a cream floral lace collar, is just the piece to add to your classic vintage collection.
The elegant rounded neckline, is framed by a cream coloured softly scalloped floral collar, which draws in along the front of the neckline with a concealed press stud. The simple shoulder line, is accented by internal shoulder pads, which set off the short length sleeves. The fitted bodice, is accented by central button and loop fastenings along the bust-line, setting off the under-bust seam, which boasts soft pleated gathers along the base of the bust. The fitted waist panel is set off by a matching belt, which draws the eye to the soft gathered pleats along the top of the skirt seam, which completes this dress in a timeless and iconic silhouette.

Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. The belt has some natural wear creasing to it along the underside and light fabric lifting along the belt buckle. There is a small pin sized darn along the right hand side of the bodice near the sleeve seam. This is in no way apparent when the dress is being worn and has been done sympathetically. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.

Vintage garments have been previously worn and lovingly cared for, they may however have a blemish or two. Here at Willow Hilson, we try our very best to note all the details of each garment, although we may sometimes overlook things, which we do apologise for. Please do not expect perfection, unless stated so.
Please make sure you check all the measurements of the garment before purchasing. Vintage garment sizes are not the same as those of today. To ensure the best fit, we suggest you measure your favourite similar style garment and compare it to the measurements we have listed.
