"Dancing Ballerinas" Vintage 1950's Red Felt Novelty Ballerina Hat

£489.00

A masterpiece to behold, this original 1950's fur felt hat, in a sumptuous shade of ruby red, adorned with dancing ballerinas along the front brim, is a true piece of fashion history.

The rounded moulded crown of the hat, is accented by curved designs along each side, which allow for it to be placed with ease upon one's head. The front of the hat is set off by matching red felt piping, which curls in along the sides, becoming the bases of each delicate dancing ballerina along the front left hand side. The brass toned metal dancers, are sewn onto the felt piping , which are in turn internally wired to add stability. Each ballerina is accented by gathered and pleated red faille ribbon, which becomes their tutus, and is sewn in along the base of each of their metal filigree skirts. Finished with painted black accents for their facial features, and small green rhinestones for their eyes. This hat sits comfortably upon one's head, and can be worn with a hat pin for added stability.
