£1,448.00

An unforgettable piece, this original 1930's crimson red silk velvet gown, accented with matelassé stitch details in the shape of crescent moons and stripes, is the perfect statement piece for that special occasion.

The rounded neckline of the gown, is framed by striped matelassé stitch details, which contour the front of the neckline and shoulders, joining the backline in an angled pattern, creating a radiating design along either side of the open back feature.  The top of the bust-line is embellished with a border of matelassé stitched crescent moons, which contour the front of the dress, top of the sleeves and join the elegant backline in a V shaped finish. The dropped sleeve seams, set off the elegant wide cut, which feature keyhole designs along each external side, framed by gathered pleats, which radiate along the sleeve, joining the pointed cuff designs in a near mutton cut. The cut of the bodice, draws in along the waistline, where the velvet gentle gathers in pleats along the waist-seam. The drape of the velvet skirt-line, accents the soft bias cut, which skim the silhouette and finishes in a gentle flutter along the hemline, set off by a delicate side vent which crosses over along the bottom left hand side of the hemline, completing this piece in a truly iconic Art Deco silhouette .
