The most majestic and eye-catching cape you could ever set your eyes upon. Rendered in a soft shade of cream wool and decorated with gold metal thread embroidery in a trailing foliage design, accented by silver claw set rhinestones, silver beadwork and gold sequins, this original early 1940's piece is sure to bring cheer to your seasonal wardrobe.
The elegant Mandarin style collar, draws in along the front of the neckline with a hook and eye and is embellished with trailing embroidery and bead and sequin embellishments. The simple shoulder line, is accented by tailored seams along the top id each shoulder seam, which allow for the cape to sit elegantly along the shoulders and top of the arms. The yoke and neckline of the cape are embellished with trailing foliage embroidery and bead and sequin embellishments contrasting the simple cream wool drape . Finished with a decorated backline and cream satin lining, each element of this piece showcases the incredible craftsmanship of the era.

Size: UK 8-12 US 4-8
Condition: In good but not perfect vintage condition. Some gentle tarnishing to the claw set rhinestones, these appear more grey and have lost some of their lustre. Some of the original yellow thread used to embroider the beadwork appears to have left gentle yellow transfer marks below the beadwork ( this is only apparent upon close inspection ).A few very small scattered darns along the main wool part of the cape, these have been done sympathetically and are not apparent when the cape is being worn. There is a darker mark along the centre back of the mandarin collar, this is where the metal embroidery soutache thread has tarnished onto the wool. Yellowing to the internal satin lining along the back of the neckline and shoulder line ( this is internal and not apparent externally) A larger darn along the centre back of the cape. These minor blemishes are not apparent when the cape is being worn but noticeable upon close inspection. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the product description.
