This truly majestic 1960's cream shantung silk dress and matching coat set, embellished with trailing silver lined glass beads, silver claw set rhinestones and faceted clear glass droplets, is just the piece for that special occasion.
The elegant rounded neckline of the dress, is framed by medium width shoulder straps and a matching rounded backline. The top of the bodice is embellished with floral beadwork, which trails along the shoulder straps and bust-line, where it is edged with a border of clear silver droplets in a tassel design, accenting the empire line of the dress. The elegant A line cut of the dress, sits perfectly beneath the matching coat, whilst showcasing the iconic silhouette of the era. The dress is fully line in cream silk and there is a single are of boning along the front of the bust-area.
The matching coat boasts a stand-away Mandarin style collar, which is embellished with trailing glass beadwork. The simple shoulder line, sets off the full length inset sleeves. The bodice of the coat is fully embellished with matching trailing floral beadwork and is edged with a border of silver droplets in a tassel design to match the one along the dress.. The elegant silhouette of the coat, which is accented by Princess seams, sits perfectly above the dress, completing this ensemble in an iconic 1960's silhouette. The coat has pockets along the hipline. This coat is lined in cream silk.

Condition: The dress set is in near perfect vintage condition. Very gentle and faint yellowing along the edges of the armholes of the dress. These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress and coat are being worn and only noticeable upon very close inspection.
