Rendered in an iconic silhouette, this timeless 1930's cream silk chiffon dress, accented by the most intricate smocking stitches, is the perfect statement piece for your vintage collection.
The sweetheart shaped décolletage, is framed with simple silk chiffon shoulder straps, which set off the sleeveless cut. The fitted bodice, is accented by a central triangular smocking stitch design, in delicate micro pleats, which gather the silk chiffon and enable it to radiate in soft pleats along either side of the bodice, joining each side seam in sewn pleats. The cinched in waistline of the dress, is accented by central smocking stitches just below the waist seam, which create soft pleats along the front of the skirt line. The full circle cut of the silk chiffon skirt, skims along the silhouette and sits in subtle pleats. Finished with a cream rayon lining, which also features a side zip fastening, every detail of this piece accents the craftsmanship of the era.

Fastenings: This dress fastens along the side seam with a 9.5 inch metal zip and internally along the side seam of the lining with a 9.5 inch metal zip.

Condition: This dress is good but not perfect vintage condition. There are two age marks along the right hand side of the skirt line at hip height. A few small scattered pin holes throughout the silk chiffon skirt line. A small age mark along the hemline. A few very minor pin sized age marks along the back of the bodice. A scattering of small pin holes concealed within the pleats of the bodice. The lining has a few faint age marks, these are not apparent externally. This dress has been restored and shortened to lengthen its life and allow for further use. These imperfections are not overly apparent when the dress is being worn and only noticeable upon closer inspection as they are well concealed by the drape and design of this piece. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report. This dress has been priced accordingly.
