This timeless and iconic 1950's dress, rendered in layers of chartreuse green tulle and embellished with gold tone sequins, is the perfect piece for any special occasion.
The sweetheart neckline of the dress is framed by a border of pleated tulle, accented by a single row of gold sequins along the borders of the bodice. The slim double shoulder straps join beneath small loops along the top of each shoulder line and are rendered in a chartreuse green faille, setting off the sleeveless cut. The fitted and boned bodice, boasts a delicate gathered pleat along the central part of the bust-line which radiates along the bust. The cinched in waistline is accented by a pipped detail, which draws the eye to the iconic New Look Silhouette of the skirt. The wonderful skirt-line is set off by gathered tulle pleats that radiate from beneath the waistline, into the full circle cut of the skirt, which is embellished with a stylised sequin and tulle appliqué in the shape of a bow, along the right hand side of the skirt. This dress is lined in chartreuse green rayon along the skirt, the bodice is fully lined in cotton.

Closures: This dress fastens along the side seam with a 14 inch metal zip and a hook and eye.
Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition.A few small sequins missing from the border along the top of the bodice near the zip fastening. A small area of wear to one of the faille shoulder straps along the left hand side. A small split to the Tulle along the hemline of the skirt, this has been mended sympathetically with a running stitch. Very light colour variation to the chartreuse green underlay of the bodice. These minor details are not apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable under closer inspection. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
