This magnificent 1950's Chantilly lace and silk dress, in a palette of cream lace and apricot silk lining, accented by claw set silver rhinestones, this Howard Greer dress is a rare piece to behold, and a statement piece to your cocktail wardrobe.
The straight cut neckline is framed by short length lace sleeves, edged with eyelash lace details. The shoulder line and yokes are lined with a nude/sheer coloured silk organza. The fitted bodice, is accented by tailored darts, whilst the back of the dress is set off by a deep V shape, lined again in sheer/nude organza. The main bodice and skirt of the dress are lined with apricot coloured silk. The cinched in waistline, draws the eye to the skirt, which is accented by pleats to either side of the front of the waistline. The skirt is finished with a scalloped detail to the lace and delicate eyelash lace trim. Fully embellished with claw set silver rhinestones, this mesmerising dress, showcases the talent and stage design Howard Greer was known for.

Closures: This dress fastens to the back with a hook and eye and a 9 inch metal zip.
Condition: This dress is in good vintage condition. There are some age marks to the lace overlay, as the lining is an apricot colour, these are not overly apparent, as the colour behind conceals them well. A small age mark to the left had side of the bust-line A few scattered age marks to the left hand side of the waistline. A few small scattered age marks to the right hand side of the bodice. A few age marks to the front left hand side of the skirt along the hipline, and a scattering along the lower part of the left hand side of the skirt. A scattering of age marks along the back right hand side of the waistline and along the left. A scattering of age marks to the back of the skirt. Slight colour variation to the lace along the edges of the V backline. These minor issues are not apparent when the dress is being worn as the lining conceals them. Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
