Rendered in the most sumptuous shade of champagne floral lace and soft gold toned hammered silk, this original 1930's evening gown and matching dress slip, is a rare piece to behold.
The elegant rounded neckline is framed by a softly turned down silk edge, which joins either side of the shoulder lines in decorative silk knots, which drape along the top of the arms. The simple shoulder line, sets off the sleeveless cut which is accented by a curved lace panel which contours the front of the right hand armhole, is a stylised mock sleeve design, finished with a draped piece of lace along the back of the right hand side of the dress. Each armhole is edged with matching silk piping. The fitted bodice, showcases a diagonal seam which runs from just above the waistline joining the left hand side hipline along the side seam. The matching lace and silk edged belt, sits along the diagonal seam, accenting the pointed angular design, whilst drawing the eye to the drape silk edges of the belt along the skirt-line. The iconic drape of the lace skirt-line, skims the silhouette and boasts a gentle flair along the hemline, which sits ever so slightly lower along the back.
The dress sits above a separate hammered silk slip dress, which boasts a rounded neckline framed by thin shoulder straps. The bias cut of the slip is accented by triple darts along each side seam, accenting the bust-line. The bias cut of the slip, skims the silhouette and sits perfectly beneath the lace dress.

Vintage garments have been previously worn and lovingly cared for, they may however have a blemish or two. Here at Willow Hilson, we try our very best to note all the details of each garment, although we may sometimes overlook things, which we do apologise for. Please do not expect perfection, unless stated so.
Please make sure you check all the measurements of the garment before purchasing. Vintage garment sizes are not the same as those of today. To ensure the best fit, we suggest you measure your favourite similar style garment and compare it to the measurements we have listed.
