This collectible and rare late 1950's Christian Dior dress, rendered in a deep black wool crepe, showcases the iconic silhouette of the era, whilst remaining to this day a classic and timeless design.
The rounded sweetheart neckline is framed by wide shoulder straps. The elegant bust-line, boasts a cross-over design , with gathered pleats along the right hand of the bust, and smaller gathered pleats along the left hand side, setting off the bust-line panel, whilst showcasing the décolletage. The fitted and boned bodice, draws the eye to the tailored and cinched in waistline, which draws in internally with a small hook and eye fastening. The flared cut of the skirt is set off by a panelled design, allowing for the fabric to drape in an iconic late 1950's silhouette. The skirt is lined in silk organza, with an internal starched tulle interfacing along the lining hemline, which enables the gentle flare of the skirt.

Closures: This dress fastens at the back with a 16 inch metal zip and a hook and eye, with an internal hook and eye along the linings waistband.
Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. A small darn along the right hand side of the hemline along the side seam, A small darn along the bottom of the skirt line to the back right hand side of the dress . These minor darns are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn and have been done sympathetically. . Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
