A piece to behold. This original 1940's velvet jacket rendered in a vibrant shade of berry red and embellished with raised quilting stitched embroidery, in a decorative floral design, is the perfect statement to your tailored wardrobe.
The V shaped neckline is framed by a pointed collar. The simple shoulder line is accented by tailored Princess seams which run along either side of the front of the jacket. The full length inset sleeves, boast double darts along the elbow area to aid in the movement when wearing the jacket. The fitted silhouette, draws n centrally with 11 button and loop fastenings, which are framed along either side by floral quilted embroidered designs, in a vibrant shades of pink thread. The cinched in waistline, sets off the elegant peplum cut hemline, completing this jacket in an iconic 1940's silhouette. This jacket is lined along the peplum with red coloured rayon.

Condition: This jacket is in near perfect vintage condition. A small dark mark to the velvet along the right hand side yoke and one smaller one along the left hand side yoke. Light and natural impression marks to the velvet throughout, this is a natural process for velvet. A few very gentle areas of wear along the back shoulder blade area to the velvet pile, where it has thinned in some areas. A small age mark along the right hand side of the pointed collar. These minor details are not apparent when the jacket is being worn and only noticeable upon closer inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
