Rendered in the most mesmerising shantung silk brocade, in shades of iridescent green and aqua blue, this original 1950's floral brocade dress and coat ensemble, is just the set to add to your vintage collection.
The rounded neckline of the dress, is accented by medium width shoulder straps and a sleeveless cut. The fitted bodice, boasts tailored dart beneath the bust-line, which accent the bust, whilst drawing the eye to the fitted design. The cinched in waistline, is decorated with a central matching silk brocade bow, which is framed along either side of the skirt-line by double dart features, setting off the gently flared silhouette of the dress.
The matching coat, boasts a wide turned down collar, that side along the extremities of the shoulder line and draws together along the front of the neckline beneath a matching silk brocade bow, that matches the one positioned along the waistline of the dress. The simple shoulder line of the coat, sets off the mid length inset sleeves. The elegant A line cut of the coat, drapes along the silhouette, sitting perfectly above the dress, completing this wonderful set in an iconic 1950's silhouette.

Closures: This dress fastens at the back with a 17 inch metal zip and a hook and loop. The coat fastens with a larger press stud beneath the bow and a hook and eye.
Condition: This dress set is in near perfect vintage condition. The dress has the smallest pin sized age mark along the top of the bust dart. The zip shows signs of gentle rusting to the pull lever. The back of the collar of the coat has a speckling of small rust marks along the right hand side and two small ones along the left hand side . A very light speckling of pin sized rust marks along the bottom left hand side front of the hemline and a small age mark positioned near these. Rusting beneath the hook and eye fastening along the internal part of the neckline. These minor blemishes are in no way apparent when the set is being worn and only noticeable upon close inspection.
